The Little Mermaid is a 2023 American live-action musical fantasy film directed by Rob Marshall and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. It is a live-action adaptation of the 1989 Disney animated film of the same name, based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale of the same name. The film stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, a mermaid who dreams of becoming human. She makes a deal with the sea witch Ursula to trade her tail for legs, but the deal comes with a price.
