Adam Reed, age 13 and still grieving the sudden death of his father a year earlier, walks into his garage one night to find a wounded pilot hiding there. This mysterious pilot is a member of a secret organization known as "The Willies," whose members have flown into the night to save humanity. Adam joins the Willies, and it is not long before he must decide which side he is on - if his allegiance does not lie with his father. Meanwhile, his parents are working on a new project - something that might change the world - or destroy it. And the Willies will do anything to keep it secret.
