Two women, one in her forties and one teenaged, find themselves in the maternity ward together after unexpected pregnancies. Eventually, their relationship evolves in ways that neither could have imagined. Meanwhile, the older woman searches for lost family members with the help of a married man who falls in love with her. When a shocking discovery is made by one of the women, suddenly they realize that their lives may be completely upended for good.
