South of Heaven is a crime film centered around a former convict trying to give his dying lover her dream life. Jimmy uses Annie's health circumstances to gain an early release for his armed robbery sentence. Rushing to her side, he attempts to walk the straight and narrow but an old acquaintance forces the issue of returning to his old life. During what is supposed to be a final job, the situation falls apart, leading to the death of a courier and missing money. Jimmy must now protect himself and his beloved from the kingpin wanting his money back.
