A grieving widower, Dr. Nate Daniels, embarks on a trip to Africa with his two teenage daughters, Meredith and Norah. The family makes a pilgrimage to the place where Daniels had first met his wife and the girls' mother. They go to a game reserve and meet up with Daniel's old friend, Martin Battles, a wildlife biologist. Unfortunately, the unsuspecting foursome run into a rampaging and murderous lion intent on eating everything in its path. The long-planned trip intended to spark recovery and renewal becomes a terrifying battle for survival.
