After an odd group of strangers attempts to kidnap her eight-year-old son David, single mother Laura takes to the road in search of a safe haven for her family. Soon after their hasty departure, David begins to experience violent convulsions and episodes of psychosis that seem almost supernatural. Prompted by David's mysterious illness, Laura leaves a trail of blood in her wake and must decide how far she will go to flee from her dark past and protect her son.
