An African American former Marine is now working as a janitor when his life is upended by the deadly action of a white police officer. Lincoln is driving his son home from a friend?s house. He is pulled over for speeding. As a black man, Lincoln knows that everything must be done by the book when confronting a white police officer. But when his 14-year-old son, Kenji, decides to start filming the encounter with his phone, the situation escalates. The cop kills the young man. When he is cleared of wrong-doing, Lincoln decides to take matters into his own hands.
