Four ordinary people suffer tragic events and/or severe physical trauma in their lives which leads to each of them developing a unique superpower. They come together to form a crime-fighting team called the Doom Patrol. One woman has the power of a shapeshifter and another female has command of 64 different personalities. Two men are also on the team. One is a former Air Force pilot who develops internal ?negative energy? after a plane crash. The final member of Doom Patrol is a race car driver severely injured in a smash-up and then has his body transplanted inside a robotic shell.
