Dave and his wife Gemma are ?extremely nice? and ?extremely white? people from the Midwest who move to an all-black neighborhood in Pasadena, California. The couple made the move to accept a big promotion in Gemma?s teaching position. They expect a warm reception, but they find that the African American community is leery of the newcomers and less the welcoming. Comedic situations ensue as Gemma makes efforts to fit in with the black culture and community while her husband Dave?s super white ways grate on the nerves of his new neighbors.
