Abe, a 12-year-old Brooklyn kid, feels squashed between his Islamic grandparents on one side and his Jewish grandparents on the other. His agnostic parents offer no help. Abe ditches a summer camp job to perform grunt work in the kitchen of a famous Brazilian chef specializing in a fusion of ethnic New York flavors. At the same time, he tries to convince the chef to mentor him. Will he learn enough to break into the food industry and bridge his grandparents? divide at the same time?
