Norval Greenwood has struggled with self-esteem issues ever since his father, David, abandoned him when he was a child. Although his home is a Beverly Hills mansion, he still lives with him mom and deals with alcoholism. When he receives sudden contact from David, Norval decides to visit him at a remote coastal cabin with the hope that a bit of father/son bonding will help improve his life. Yet, David doesn't have his act together either: He's a drunk who blurts out mean statements. When David then becomes violent, Norval realizes, as he races to save himself, that his life in L.A. was actually great in comparison.
