United States Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord is explored as she is responsible for international affairs and domestic office battles that affect her position. As she gains more experience, she finds that the position of Secretary of State doesn't simply suit her anymore so she makes the hard decision of deciding to run for President of the United States. As she gets elected, she gets more involved in politics around the world while still having the handle the relationship between her friends and family.
