Taking place in 1942, two sets of characters, the leaders of the French Resistance on land and the German U-boat U-612 in the ocean are followed as they all have different missions in what they must do during the war. As those around them start to lose their lives in battles, characters start to discuss more on the motives that drive them to fight the way they do and make difficult decisions in what they must do next.
