American Woman takes place in a small town in Pennsylvania. In the blue-collar town, a 32-year-old woman discovers that her teen daughter goes missing. She is tasked with the job of taking care of her grandson, who is still a baby. She continues to raise her grandson alone as the girl remains missing. Over the next eleven years, since the time of the vanishing, she goes through many challenges while looking for closure. After all the waiting, she is finally led to the whole truth.
