In Kolkata, India, a woman, Isabel, works hard to elevate the lives of orphans. When she receives word that a rich New Yorker, Theresa, is willing to donate millions of dollars in much-needed supplies if she can meet Isabel in person, Isabel immediately travels to the United States. When they meet, Theresa seems sincere about her promise, but she's distracted by the upcoming wedding of her daughter Grace. She asks Isabel to attend the wedding before they finalize the deal for the donation. At the wedding, Isabel recognizes an old flame, Oscar, who is now Theresa's husband, and begins to suspect that Theresa might have a not-so-charitable agenda.
