Lady, an American Cocker Spaniel, has only ever known luxury in a suburban, upper-middle-class neighborhood. Her owners, Darling Dear and Jim Dear, brought her home as a puppy and made her the center of attention. She has never wanted for anything. One day, Lady meets a stray mutt from downtown named Tramp who tries to convince her that she doesn't know much about the world as a result of her soft lifestyle. He tries to woo her and convince her to leave the neighborhood to see what she's been missing. Tramp also tells Lady that her owners will eventually give her less attention. After Darling and Jim announce the arrival of a new baby, Lady begins to wonder if Tramp was right.
