Carol Peters is chosen by the world's first superintelligence, an artificial intelligence program, to be observed. When Carol's television, phone, and other appliances begin speaking to her she believes she is imagining it. Little does she know, this artificial intelligence is attempting to control her life as the beginning stage to its ultimate plan of taking over the entire world.
