Crazy Ex-Girlfriend mashes up countless different television genres; and in doing so, it finds its own unique identity. While romantic comedy serves as the base of the series' inspiration, it also has strong elements of drama punctuated by musical interludes. It follows successful and well educated business lawyer Rebecca Bunch who decides overnight to leave her prestigious and high-paying Manhattan job after running int a childhood crush name Greg on the streets. In pursuit of her wayward crush, she travels to the other side of the country with the intent of ingratiating herself into Greg's life and finding the love she craves.
