Sanjay Dutt's wife Manyata approaches London-based writer Winnie to write a biography about her husband. Winnie interviews Sanjay, and the life of the Bollywood actor nicknamed "Sanju" is revealed in flashback. Born into a Bollywood dynasty, Sanju becomes a star, descends into alcoholism and addiction, turns to bodybuilding, becomes embroiled in scandal and is eventually accused of terrorism. Full of highs and lows and surprising twists and turns, this is a story of fall and redemption, followed by yet more fall and more redemption.
