A failed and disastrous mission on Mars. An AI or also known as ARTI, is being sent back. Only a few humans are monitoring ARTI. With the pressure of finding what had happened to the first mission, ARTI's supervisors are slowly allowing him to make more decisions. As he advances further, they are slowly losing control.
