While inching closer to the end of his probation, Collin is nervous about the implications of being black and hanging out with his reckless white friend Miles. Miles frequently impulsive and has privilege in his actions that Collin does not, raising questions about racial divides with law enforcement and what that means in modern America. Set in Oakland, California, the two end up spending time together until one night Collin sees a rogue cop impulsively murder someone on the streets. This sparks paranoia for Collins and his friendship with Miles as he contemplates his future and his ambivalence for the cop that he ran into.
