Thirteen Reasons Why follows the story of Clay Jensen in the aftermath of the suicide of his friend, Hannah Baker. Hannah left behind a series of thirteen tapes, which Clay listens to over the course of each episode, that tell the story of the events that culminated in her decision to take her own life. The various students connected to Hannah attempt to keep their secrets under control as Hannah reveals them, all the while struggling with their role in her depression and eventual death.
