Eccentric pharmaceutical billionaire Carl Durant begins a project to genetically enhance and experiment on bull sharks. Shark expert Misty Calhoun is brought in to assist Durant's scientists on the secret project. Events go horribly wrong when the extremely intelligent sharks break free and begin to hunt their creators one by one. Now, this group of stranded scientists will have to survive against a top predator in its home environment: the ocean.
