Endre is a lonely and socially reserved manager of a small slaughterhouse near Budapest. His new co-worker is quality control inspector Maria. As they gradually become friends, the two come to realize that they share a dream in which they meet as deer in a forest. Although they seem on the surface to have very little in common and are both rather introverted, Endre and Maria begin to fall in love.
