To support her family, Parvana cuts off her long tresses and outfits herself with boy's clothing so that she can work with her friend Shauzia who is a young boy her age.
Parvana, through her courage and imagination, and with Shauzia at her side, searches for her father and explores a side of her world and freedoms that she has never known.
