Supergirl, aka Kara Zor-El, is sent to Earth as a young girl to look after her younger cousin, Kent Clark, aka Superman. Kara arrives on earth as a 24-year old woman, her aircraft having been suspended in space after her home planet Kryton explodes. Once on Earth, Kara struggles in her role as Supergirl, but gains confidence as she works with her sister and friends to fight alien attack at the top-secret government agency Department of Extranormal Operations.
