In this spinoff from a popular action series of the 1960s and 1970s, Steve McGarrett, the son of an acclaimed Hawaii law enforcement officer, moves back to the Hawaiian Islands following his father's murder. He remains to head up a special investigations unit which tackles the most demanding cases: murders, terrorism, thefts, and more. Supporting cast members include Steve's staff members and his younger sister and their friends. The series offers action-adventure plots filmed amidst a stunning scenic background. Some episodes revolve around Steve McGarrett's intense personal rivalry with the shadowy leader of a criminal espionage network.
