As Christmas draws near, Clara desperately searches for a key that will open a box left by her recently deceased mother. To help his goddaughter on her quest, Drosselmeyer presents Clara with a special thread he says will lead her to the key. As she follows the thread, Clara falls into a strange new universe full of gingerbread men, toy soldiers, and scary mice. While in this magical land, Clara befriends the soldier Phillip who agrees to help her navigate the four realms and retrieve the key. Before they reach their goal, however, Clara and Phillip will have to battle the menacing Mother Ginger.
