Growing up in the foster care system, Gilly Hopkins has long hoped that her birth mother will one day come and take her home. In an effort to make sure that can happen, the young girl concocts schemes that get her removed from every foster family she?s lived with. She meets her match with Maime Trotter though as Maime wants nothing more than to provide a home for Gilly. Gilly?s plan to have her birth mother finally come to her rescue might just backfire after she?s finally found a family where she fits.
