Centering on these groundbreaking studies in the 1960's, this show follows the personal, sexual and professional lives of Masters and Johnson. The basic information in the show featuring the actual studies Masters and Johnson conducted and the ensuing controversy is rooted strongly in reality. However, the personal lives if Dr. Masters, an obstetrician and gynecologist, and Dr. Johnson, a sociologist, were elaborated to increase interest in the weekly plots.
