What happens when you throw together two geeky physicists who work and live together and an actress who lives down the hall? They all learn that life isn't as simple as their individual world views. Penny, a beautiful waitress who moved to California to become an actress, meets Leonard and Sheldon in her apartment building. They attempt to reveal to Penny the beauty of life from the scientific perspective. Penny realizes that although the men are brilliant, they have poor social skills. She returns the favor by showing them and their friends, Howard and Raj, life from the social perspective.
