Standoff features a veteran, Carter, who has been struggling since returning from war. He starts to find purpose in life when he takes on the role of protecting a twelve year old girl who witnessed a murder by a professional assassin. Carter's only weapon is a shotgun with one bullet, so he must use a variety of physical and mental strategies to help protect the little girl and save her from the assassin.
