Luscious Lyon is the mogul of Empire Entertainment, a highly successful hip hop company. He has turned his life around since his drug-dealing days, but his past continues to haunt him. He's particularly troubled by his ex-wife Cookie, who has been released from prison and is determined to get her hands on as much of the company as she can. Meanwhile, he navigates love interests and fatherhood. His sons include Andre, who has finished college and wants to seize power in his father's company; Jamal, who is gay and a gifted songwriter; and the youngest, rising hip hop star Hakeem.
