Jane the Virgin is about a young, religious Hispanic girl who accidentally gets artificially inseminated by her doctor at her routine gynecology appointment. The unique part of this is that Jane is a virgin. Her mother had her at age 16 after a one night stand and Jane vowed to her grandmother that she would stay a virgin until marriage. The show is set up in a telenovela fashion and follows Jane's journey as she navigates her pregnancy and the many twists and turns of her life.
