6.4A high school senior, Bianca, finds out at a party from the school's popular jock, Wesley, that she is the Designated Ugly Fat Friend, or DUFF, that her group of friends use to make themselves look pretty. Although her favorite teacher tries to help her see her beauty and warns her against trying to live up to high school standards, she asks Wesley to help her transform herself into someone who is beautiful. Bianca soon learns that the only way to stop being the DUFF is to boost her self-confidence and stop Madison, the school's mean girl, from labeling people.
