Blue Bloods centers around a family that has one thing holding them together; the New York Police Department. Francis "Frank" Reagan is the ultimate patriarch and also a second generation Police Commissioner. He has four children, all in law enforcement of some form; Joe, who died in the line of duty, Danny, a detective who is sometimes off the rails, Erin, the Assistant District Attorney, and Jamie, who both attended Harvard Law and works for the NYPD. The family comes together with their respective spouses and children to discuss their cases and personal situations. One of their major points of discussion is the case that caused the death of their brother, Joe; a case Jamie has decided to pick up.
