Marty Kann is a very successful, very immoral, and very self-loathing management consultant at Galweather Stearn, a top-tier firm where he heads a department, leading a top-tier team: Engagement manager Jeannie Van der Hooven and associates Clyde Oberholdt and Doug Guggenheim. Early on in the show, he departs the firm to form his own: Kaan & Associates. Eventually his Stearn team joins him in his venture. Marty is a driven man who will do anything in his power to get his clients the information they need. His driven nature extends to his personal life in which he daily deals with his ex-wife Monica, father Jeremiah, and son Roscoe.
