Homeland follows CIA analyst Carrie Mathison, a determined but deeply troubled young woman who teeters between brilliance and mental instability. Carrie works in anti-terrorism and is haunted by her perceived failure to prevent the attack on the World Trade Center towers. The first season focuses on her efforts to uncover the truth surrounding a recently freed POW, Nicolas Brody; it also focuses on her crumbling mental health. The second season focuses on Carrie?s struggles with her mental illness and her continued pursuit of Nicolas Brody. The third season is the culmination of Carrie?s efforts and the fallout.
