Atlantic City treasurer Nucky Thompson lives a rather lavish life, and given the fact that he operates in the midst of a city that is teeming with mobsters and gambling in the 1920s, there is some question as to how he's been able to amass his fortune. Could there be something crooked about this politician? Indeed, he is an unconventional politician, but he maintains strong ties to people from all walks of life in order to increase his ability to do his job well. While his methods are unorthodox, he is able to do a great deal in his position.
