Deadliest Catch is a documentary series follows crab fishing in the Bearing Sea near Alaska, the most dangerous profession in America. The fishing crews face long hours, harsh weather, and clashing personalities as they risk injury and death to pull in a big haul. Thanks to the "rationalization" system, individual ships are awarded quotas making around 80 ships eligible for the crab seasons. Of these, 30 ships have been filmed in operation by the show's embedded crews.
