A dark, mildly surreal comedy series set in the Extended Care wing of a seedy, dysfunctional hospital. Staff and patients alike are deeply quirky and troubled. The doctor in charge is high-strung and narcissistic, the head nurse is a bundle of nerves, and the newest nurse on the floor thinks everyone else is insane. The geriatric patients range from addled to violent, with occasional moments of peace and grace. The extremely depressing environment is offset by moments of humor both crude and subtle, while gesturing at the compassion and beauty in the experience of caring for the aged.
