This high school dramedy follows a group of students and their idealistic teacher as they struggle to return their high school Glee Club to its former glory and pursue their dreams of being stars. Shot as a musical, modern pop and classic rock songs provide a mix for the series performances. At the center of the glee club is Rachel Berry, a young woman who most of her classmates find annoying, but will stop at nothing to achieve her dreams. She bonds with an unlikely group of misfits to create the glee club, then recruits former student and now Spanish teacher Will Schuester to lead them to glory. Realizing they need a little star power, they turn to a few of the popular kids to give them more appeal, creating a group that may not be the most polished, but definitely has the most heart. Though the show is performance and comedy heavy, it does not shy away from high school drama of first love, sexual awakening, friendship, and betrayal.
