A pair of siblings, Tommy and his older brother Eric, are spending their summer doing what boys without any worries do. They play, explore their small world and spontaneously move from moment to moment with a carefree attitude that youth brings. The boys have no concerns about the adult world until a tragedy brings reality crashing in around them. When a neighborhood boy is found dead at the bottom of a bridge, Tommy and Eric are forced to deal with grief, along with the disturbing reality that death comes to everyone. Each brother must learn to deal with loss in their own way. Their parents try to offer comfort, but can't help Tommy and Eric understand their feelings on their own level. As they cope with their feelings, each finds that they are reacting to the boy's death differently, and that their approach to life has changed as well.
