Louie, the popular TV show broadcast on the FX network, features the comedy of, as well as the comedic life of, comedian Louis CK. Louis is a quintessential contemporary New Yorker trying to make it all work in a world he often finds fast and impersonal. The show follows Louie as he bounces from gig to gig and from his apartment to his daughters' school to manage the business of the everyday. The single parent of two young daughters, Louie attempts to grapple and understand efforts to find romantic love, how to raise two females he often doesn't understand, and how to make meaning in a lonely world. The shows ends each week with Louie doing stand- up at a local New York comedy club where he wrestles with his life issues to the tune of clinking glasses and applause for his down to earth, touching, and always hilarious musings.
