A test pilot who works for the United States government is nearly killed when the ship he is in crashes. The government determines that they may be able to save Steve Austin using modern technology. They rebuild him, giving him super-human strengths and abilities using robotic parts. When he awakens, he learns that he will be used as a government agent to help fight crime. The three bionic body parts are his left eye, both of his legs and his right arm. His legs give him a running speed of approximately 60 miles per hour. His bionic eye allows him to focus in on objects that are far away, see in the dark and detect heat. His bionic arm has the strength of a bulldozer. He becomes one of the most effective agents the government has, but, he does not always want the job.
