Four different people experience the hardships of life in modern China. Dahai grows frustrated with the corruption of the local leaders in his small town and vows revenge. His method pf payback involves plenty of anger and a very large shotgun. Zhou San, a desperate criminal, feeds his family through a life of crime, but finds that his violent lifestyle has alienated the very people he is trying to support. On the run, young Xiao Hui takes refuge from his pursuers in a high-end bordello. Meanwhile, a young woman deals with sexual harassment at her job from customers whose new-found wealth makes them believe that they can buy anything and anyone.
