A modern retelling of the 1980 masterpiece which is once again set in a quiet suburban neighborhood that turns out to be quite abnormal for one family who lives there. The Freelings experience a slow descent into terror as their house becomes increasingly haunted; a haunting that culminates in the abduction of the families youngest daughter to the other side leaving the Freelings to figure out a way to get her back.
