Arrow is based on the story of the Green Arrow comic book character. Arrow starts its story with Oliver Queen returning from a deserted island, where he has been stranded for the past few years. Queen must deal with the death of his father, the loss of his ex-girlfriend's sister, and the realization that is father was not the man he thought. Oliver is given a list of "targets" - businessmen who have been wreaking havoc on Starling City. He discovers that is father was one of those men, and he has entrusted Oliver to right his wrongs. Unable to save the city as Oliver Queen, he dons a green hood, bow and arrow, and begins calling himself "the Arrow". While he certainly helps the city by getting rid of those poisoning it, not everyone is impressed with his actions. He is referred to as a vigilante, with the police determined to catch him. Oliver must evade the police and bring justice to Starling City, while ensuring that his mother and sister suspect nothing.
