Walt Longmire is a tough man who is still grieving the death of his wife a year ago. He is the sheriff of Absaroka County in Wyoming. He is up for reelection soon, and one of his deputies is challenging him in the campaign. Longmire struggles to move through his grief and win reelection as he deals with the demands of his job. There are a number of homicides that occur in this small community, and Longmire often finds himself struggling to conduct investigations on the nearby Indian reservation. Luckily, Longmire?s best friend is Henry Standing Bear, a local tavern owner and well-respected man around the reservation. They work together to help Longmire sort out his professional and personal life as he moves on from the grief of his wife?s death.
