Hatchet III begins just moments after the conclusion of Hatchet II, as Marybeth searches for a means of destroying the spirit of the evil Victor Crowley once and for all. Unfortunately, things don't work out as planned for Marybeth and she finds herself locked up behind bars. During her stay in jail, Marybeth encounters Amanda, a journalist who thinks she knows the answer to destroying Victor Crowley for good. Once out of jail, the duo travels back into the haunted Honey Island Swamp for a final showdown with Victor. They hope to put an end to the voodoo curse that has haunted the swamp and its residents for many years.
